Imagination in Motion – Creating Dance in Real Time
**Workshop Series**
In this series of workshops we will dive deep into the creative process of improvisation and instant composition in dance. In each workshop we will explore the art of creating dance in real time through a slightly different lens and focus point. Starting from embodied exercises, and exploration of our personal movement material through somatic-anatomical principles and imagination, we move into an active, playful relationship with space, time and other dancers, building towards techniques of instant composition. We work on clarity of awareness and perception, exploring how from a state of inner calm and support each movement in its particular dynamics and character speaks and communicates, and how from this state you will be able “to hear and to know“ the next action. We look for an effortless, sustainable physicality and technique; a body that is soft and receptive, yet awake, perceptive and alert, evolving towards a deeply embodied dancing presence, from where improvisation and composition naturally and intuitively emerge in alignment with the present moment. Creation of short, instantly composed pieces at the end of the workshop integrates the process into an artistic, performative outcome, which we will observe and participate in.
The workshops are open for dancers, movers and artists with different levels and backgrounds.
